When I was in introductory Philosophy in college, a security guard once poked his head in our classroom and explained that they had a tip there might be a bomb in the building. We were instructed to just sit at our desks and wait for further instructions.
Five minutes passed with no updates. I quietly gathered my books, slung my bookbag over my shoulder, fast-walked out of the classroom, fast-walked out of the building, fast-walked out of the campus, crossed the big avenue, and fast-walked out of the neighborhood.
I was told later that my response was used by the professor as an illustration of the concept of “philosophy.”
