The Men Who Stare At Goats And The Return Of The Jedi

The Men Who Stare At Goats is a 2009 movie based on the real-life investigations by Jon Ronson into the link between the U.S. military intelligence and psychic research. One of the in-jokes of the film are the references to the “Jedi”—and the fact that Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars franchise) is the protagonist.

This is one of my favorite flicks, and while it’s a bit of a spoiler, I particularly like this last scene:

And if I ever needed proof of how the Dark Side had taken the beautiful dream of what our nation could be, and twisted it—destroyed it—well, that was it.

But I won’t stop. I won’t give up. Because when I look at what is happening in the world, I know that now…more than ever…we need to be all that we can be…

Now…more than ever…we need the Jedi.
