Jeff Bezos Plans To Put Independent Bookstores Out Of Business On The Moon

Just because you are slowly-deteriorating clone stuck in a mining colony on the moon doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get your Amazon packages.

So Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has created a plan, which he’s shopping around now to NASA and the White House, to have a shipping system go back-and-forth from the Earth to the moon by the mid-2020s. These cargo missions would function…sort of like Amazon. You know, you get your food, medical supplies, equipment, bulk-rate cat treats, and etc.

Said Bezos to The Washington Post regarding the venture (which would be carried out by his space company Blue Origin):

It is time for America to return to the Moon—this time to stay. A permanently inhabited lunar settlement is a difficult and worthy objective. I sense a lot of people are excited about this.

Mid-2020, huh? We seem to be moving a little faster on the time-clock than originally planned on the whole space colonization thing…
