4.17.19: That Barton Fink Feeling

“What we imagine is order is merely the prevailing form of chaos.”
–Kerry Thornley

Welcome to Butterfly Language, a look at the world inside and outside my head!

I have a bit on my plate today & don’t have a particular lot of time to write here—other to point out that it’s the birthday of Kerry Wendell Thornley, co-founder of Discordianism, and military buddy of Lee Harvey Oswald.

I write a bit about Thornley—and his sometimes-thorny (sorry) relationship with Robert Anton Wilson here: “Prisoner Of High Weirdness”.

Also, the following posts address various aspects of Discordianism & the nature of subjective reality, which were Thornley philosophical staples:
“Loki, The Matrix, And The Great Game Night Analogy”
“The Reality Trilogy”
“You Created A Joke Religion And It Became Real. Now What?”

Hail Eris!

In addition, I have a whole metric shit-ton of older posts that I’ve just re-published:

5.21.17: In The Eye Oculus

11.8.17: 2 Real Man

4.17.18: It’s A Slippery Slope

4.19.18: In The Backwater Swirling

5.9.18: Destroyer Brooklyn

5.27.18: The Butterfly Merchants

Death Of A Fake News Guy

Old Man Saturn

Moon Colonies To Happen “Sooner Than You Think”

Meeting Rosemary’s Baby

And…I think that’s a wrap for now.

As for me? I feel good.

To be honest, the philosophies of Thornley, Wilson and the rest have served me well in the sense that…well, I laugh a lot more. I’ve tried to be deadly serious, but it’s never seemed to really work well for me…maybe it’s “The Law Of Attraction.” But I like laughing. I like being a goofball.

And so. Have a good Wednesday. Watch my dumb Joker action figure review on YouTube. And be good.

Kerry Thornley once said something to the effect that if he’d known the operation was going to work he would’ve picked Venus instead of that bitch Eris. And like every good junkie he just couldn’t leave that bitch alone. And so he moved further and further into unbalance. Kerry’s big flaw was that even though he could see through the aneristic illusion he could never see through the eristic illusion.

When your embrace chaos and set order and authority aside they become your shadow and then emerge into your life as fate in the form of acute paranoia.
