5.10.19: Reversal Alice

5-10-19-image-a.jpg

“Everything is reversed and backwards. The tiny religious medals of my grandmother—it’s a female Jesus and a slyly smiling Virgin Mary. The construction of all these backward things, these reversals, is by Alice. A very powerful being who can effect reversals in reality. ‘Reversal Alice.’ Clear image of a tall, Mediterranean-looking long brown hair, olive skinned, slim-waisted girl with Byzantine features but modern dress. She had an upside-down heart hanging from a necklace.”
— Dream, 4/4/03

“Specifically, though, I am told to cool it re Christ’s feminine nature.”
—Philip K. Dick, “Exegesis”

Boss Babies And Ascended Masters

Boss Baby: I’m on a mission from above.
Tim: Huh? Are you the baby Jesus?!
–“The Boss Baby”

The Boss Baby is an enjoyable movie for the most part; certainly not on the level of something like The Incredibles, but fast-paced, often funny, and with decent animation.

But the central premise of the film—that a “fake” baby with an adult soul was sent down from heaven to prevent a conspiracy against humanity—gets into certified religious territory.

The “Magical Child” Archetype And Human Evolution

Oh You Pretty Things
Don’t you know you’re driving your
Mamas and Papas insane
Let me make it plain
You gotta make way for the Homo Superior
–David Bowie, “Oh You Pretty Things”

Boriska Kipriyanovich has claimed he is an ancient Martian reborn into our current era to warn humanity against its destruction. The young man has a genius IQ—able to speak, it is claimed, soon after birth, and possessing knowledge of astronomy and ancient civilizations that clearly surpassed anything he could have learned in school.

Robins, Jokers And Horus-Set: The Mythology Continues

lkjklkj.jpg

In my post “The Holy Trinity: Osiris, Isis, And Horus In Popular-Culture” I wrote of a persistent basic archetypal trio or “trinity” that has operated in pop-culture (especially comic books): Isis (the Mother), Osiris (the Father) and Horus (the Son). It didn’t matter if these characters were actually related to each other, or what their specific relationships with each other were. If there was a Woman (say, Supergirl) a Man (Superman) and a Child (Superboy): that was a Trinity!

For the very popular Batman franchise, this was a natural fit: Batgirl or Catwoman was the Isis-figure, Batman was Osiris, and Robin (dressed in his bird costume) made a fitting hawk-Horus.

Hollywood, America, Rome: The Deeper Meanings of “Hail, Ceasar!”

ougojlk.jpg

“Ancient Rome. Twelve years into the rule of Tiberius, ruler maximus. Rome’s legions are masters of the world, the stomp of its sandals heard from the Iberian peninsula in the west through the halls of the great library of Alexandria in the east. As oppressed people everywhere writhe under the Roman lash, freeman and vassal are united in one compulsory worship. The emperor, Caesar, is Godhead, lord of every man’s body and spirit. For those who will not submit, the galleys, the arenas, even crucifixion await. But there is a new wind, blowing from the east, from the dusty streets of Bethlehem, that will soon challenge the vast house of Caesar, that edifice wrought of brick and blood which now seems so secure!”
–Narrator, “Hail, Caesar!”

The 2016 Coen Brothers film Hail, Caesar! is, like Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice the same year, a somewhat prophetic work sitting on the edge of a vastly changing social and political landscape.
